Thank you for your interest in the All Saints Anglican School Scholarship Programme. Scholarships are offered for students who are Australian Citizens, or Students on a Visa that is not an Overseas Student Visa Subclass entering Years 7, 10 and 11.
Scholarship categories include:
Scholarships are awarded according to the results of the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) scholarship examination and an interview with the Headmaster or his delegate.
Scholarships offered by All Saints are sub-school specific and are generally for a 25% or 50% concession of the academic tuition fees. For Music Excellence Scholarships free lessons on one instrument are also offered. Occasionally Music Bursaries are offered and these provide free music lessons. Scholarships / Music Bursaries are reviewed annually and students must maintain their academic standard to retain their scholarship.
Online registration for the 2018 ACER Scholarship Testing Programme has now closed.
Applications for 2019 scholarships will open in November 2017.
Students who apply for a Music Excellence Scholarship must also sit the examination and will be required to audition. It is expected that students who wish to audition for a Music Scholarship be of at least Grade 4 AMEB or equivalent standard on their instrument if applying in Year 7 and at least Grade 5 AMEB for Years 10 and 11.
Vocal auditionees should be at a standard suited to the development of the individual voice and demonstrate vocal range, stylistic understanding, tonal quality and presentation ability. It is to the advantage of vocalists to show evidence of other instrumental experience. All Saints is particularly interested in male singers or instrumentalists who play Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Double Bass or lower brass instruments (French Horn, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba). Students who demonstrate potential in one of these areas are encouraged to apply even if they don’t quite satisfy the standard minima.
Students wishing to audition will be required to prepare an excerpt from a piece presently being studied on their music instrument (piece to be unaccompanied) or voice, and be prepared to undertake a short sight reading test and some aural testing. The music audition timetable will be displayed in the foyer of the Nairn Theatre on the morning of the written examination.
Students who are successful in gaining a Music Scholarship at All Saints are expected to be diligent in their home music practice, attend all concerts and other musical events and be a member of at least two musical ensembles.
