Duke of Edinburgh's International Award

The Duke of Edinburgh's award is about discovering new activities, challenging oneself and building teamwork. As every individual is different, so too are the challenges that students undertake.

About the award

This award was founded by Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh to encourage personal development and community involvement for young people. The program is open to any person between the ages of 14 and 24. Participants complete the award by achieving personally established goals in the areas of community service, skill development, physical recreation and adventurous journey.

All Saints has facilitated the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award since 2000 and has had up to 20 graduating students achieve the Gold Award per year since that time.

Past expeditions

As a part of their adventurous journey component, students undertake a series of expeditions which are coordinated by All Saints staff members who are qualified Duke of Edinburgh leaders. Expeditions can include include hiking, camping, kayaking and general exploration of nature.
