An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced upper primary teacher to join our dedicated, vibrant and creative Junior School in Term 2.
About the Role:
Our flourishing Junior School caters for 675 students from Pre-Prep to Year 6 and is characterised by a culture that embraces challenge, celebrates success and fosters a genuine enjoyment of learning.
The successful applicant will be a passionate classroom practitioner whose teaching practice is informed by contemporary educational research, including the Science of Learning.
This is a full-time fixed-term position for Term 2, 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
Academic Excellence
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum.
- Integrate technology meaningfully to enhance teaching and learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent standards, moderation of student work and best practice in teaching.
- Contribute to a collaborative teaching culture, sharing ideas, resources and effective practice with colleagues.
- Differentiate instruction to support a range of abilities, backgrounds and learning styles within an Upper Primary classroom.
Pastoral Care & Student Wellbeing
- Build positive, respectful relationships with students that promote confidence, independence and personal growth.
- Take responsibility for students' welfare both in and outside the classroom.
- Support positive student behaviour through clear expectations and consistent classroom management strategies.
- Work closely with families, junior school staff and learning support professionals to support each students learning and wellbeing.
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- A relevant tertiary teaching qualification and current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching in an Upper primary classroom.
- Strong knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and contemporary primary teaching practice.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with students, parents and colleagues.
- A commitment to reflective practice and ongoing professional growth.
- The confidence to take initiative in the classroom while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
- A willingness to contribute to the co-curricular and community life of the School.
