We are currently seeking a passionate and dynamic Music Teacher to join our Middle School. This is an exciting opportunity to lead music lessons for our students, helping them explore their musical talents while fostering an appreciation for music theory, history and performance. Additionally, the Music Teacher will take on a key role in leading our School Chapel Band, guiding students in worship music for chapel services.
This is a full-time permanent position commencing from term 1 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver music programs for students in years 7-9, covering areas such as music theory, vocal techniques, instrumental skills and music appreciation.
- Integrate technology meaningfully to support learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent standards and best practice.
- Differentiate instruction to cater for a range of abilities, backgrounds and learning styles.
- Lead and direct the School Chapel Band, organizing and rehearsing worship music for school chapel services.
- Build positive, respectful relationships with students that promote trust and personal growth.
- Take responsibility for students' welfare both in and outside the classroom.
- Support student behaviour through fair consistent strategies.
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- A relevant teaching qualification and current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching classroom music, preferably within a middle school setting.
- A commitment to reflective practice and professional growth.
- A desire to contribute fully to the spiritual, co-curricular and community life of the School.
