Risk and Compliance Officer

About the Role

At All Saints Anglican School, the Risk and Compliance Officer plays a key role in supporting the safety and wellbeing of our community through effective risk and compliance frameworks. The position ensures the School meets its legal, regulatory and governance obligations while fostering a culture of risk awareness and accountability.

The Risk and Compliance Officer is responsible for maintaining compliance systems and registers, supporting governance and reporting requirements, monitoring legislative and policy obligations, and ensuring the School meets its responsibilities in areas including child safety, staff compliance training, student protection, Blue Card obligations and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance the School’s risk and compliance frameworks.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory obligations and support ongoing compliance.
  • Manage compliance systems, registers and reporting requirements.
  • Oversee risk assessments for excursions, events and school activities.
  • Support staff training, audits and accreditation processes.
  • Ensure compliance with child safety, student protection and statutory requirements.

About you

Our ideal candidate will bring;

  • Demonstrated experience in a risk, compliance, governance or administrative role.
  • A sound understanding of legal and regulatory compliance requirements relevant to a school or regulated environment.
  • Confidence working with policies, procedures, registers and compliance systems.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with all members of the School community.
  • The ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a team environment.

Whilst not mandatory the following would be considered an advantage:

  • Experience working in a school environment.
  • Working knowledge of Complispace.
  • Familiarity with child safety, student protection, Blue Card and governance requirements.
  • Relevant qualifications in law, governance, business, compliance, risk or a related discipline
